Tattoo Regrets

What would make someone regret their tattoo enough to research tattoo removal information? Well, unfortunately for them and their wallets, there are a variety of reasons people want their tattoos removed.

Jobs
Many major corporations and small businesses have a “no visible tattoo” policy in place. While many companies don’t enforce the policy, you don’t want to give anyone a reason to put your name on their lay-off or to-be-fired list because of your tattoo.

Tattoos on your hands, neck and face are a bad idea. Tattoo sleeves that extend past your elbow are also not a good idea on the job front.

However, keeping a job is not the number one reason why most people have their tattoos removed.

Relevancy
The number one reason people are looking into tattoo removal is their tattoos are no longer relevant to their them or their lifestyle.

Then there was the girl who had “I Hate Life” tattooed down her spine (from the nape of her neck to the small of her back,) when she was 17. By the time she was 25, she felt life was pretty good and her tat had to go.

It’s Just a Really, Bad Tattoo
With the advent of do-it-yourself tattoos, a lot of kids are waking up with a crappy, ill-thought-out tattoo, applied by a friend. A drunk friend, who has no art, design or tattoo skills. It’s cool for all of one week and then; you realize everyone who wasn’t at the party when you got the tattoo is asking you what it is. And even more people are telling you that you should sue the tattoo artist who gave it to you.

I hate to say it, but sometimes even professional tattoo artists have off days. You get tattooed on one of those days, and you’re a candidate for tattoo removal.

Inappropriate Tattoos
People often regret getting racist, vulgar, gang related or drug related tattoos. A tattoo of a marijuana leaf when you’re 22, may not be a tattoo you want to show your 10 year old daughter when you’re 35.

So, changes in lifestyle, badly executed tattoos, tattoos with negative connotations and trying to get or keep a job when you have a visible tattoo are all reasons why people get their tattoos removed.

Think before you ink, isn’t just glib warning. Tattoos are meant to be permanent. Tattoo removal is expensive, no matter which route you take to have it removed.

Except for temporary tattoos and henna, a tattoo is a permanent mark in your skin. Evaluate your tattoo artist, design and placement carefully, before you get a tattoo. There is no semi-permanent tattoo ink that will dissolve under you skin in six months. Semi-permanent tattoos are a myth.

There are several ways to get your tattoo removed:
  • Tattoo Removal Creams or Balms
  • Laser Tattoo Removal
  • Dermabrasion
  • Salabrasion
  • Excision
  • Tattoo Removal Inks

Coming in with an honorable mention is the new Freedom 2 Inks, the first tattoo ink formulated to be easy to remove using laser tattoo removal.
